Sarina

Quaint town - beautiful beaches -great fishing - laid-back atmosphere.
What a great place to have a relaxing holiday in Tropical North Queensland

Just south of Mackay is the charming little sugar town of Sarina.
With a population of just 3,500, Sarina is noted for its wide main street with shady lawned centre strips.

Travelling from the south, on the left hand side at the entrance to Sarina is the Sarina Information Centre and Craft Shop. This is a must stop over.

The friendly volunteers will help you with local information and the local craft (which is for sale) will really impress. Sarina offers an excellent base from which to explore a host of pleasant beaches just ten to twenty kilometers away.

The Inlet is a beautiful bay providing quiet waters for boat mooring, and the boat ramp at Plane Creek gives access to fresh and saltwater fishing.

Campwin Beach, a quieter beach for picnicking and relaxing, also has boat launching facilities providing access to the nearby islands by power boat.

Just a few minutes drive from the town, Sarina Beach has plenty to offer with a Life Saving Club, store, licensed restaurant, picnic area, boat ramp, a lookout affording sensational views, and accommodation.

At the northern end of the beach at the entrance to Castrades Inlet, Prawn Trawlers are moored in the calm protected waters.
